ISATVA Merger Background
On August 10, 2009 Gem State ATV Association President Clark Collins and Idaho State ATV Association President Bill Jones met in Boise to discuss the possibility of combining the two organizations. It was agreed that Idaho’s ATV user community would benefit from merging the two organizations and retaining the Idaho State ATV Association (ISATVA) name for the new organization. Collins and Jones also agreed that it would be best for Collins to seek election as President of the new ISATVA.
Following that meeting Collins contacted the leaders of the member clubs of the two associations inviting them to participate in the decision-making process to approve the Merger, draft Bylaws and elect new officers. That process was conducted by e-mail. Bylaws were fine tuned and agreed upon in September and October, 2009 and the organizing process concluded with the unanimous consent election of the initial slate of volunteer officers on November 24th, 2009 (see “Contact” for the list of officers).
During this process several ATV enthusiasts volunteered for non-elected positions within the organization. Harvey Richards, with the Kuna Trail Riders, was selected as ISATVA Website Administrator. Travis Tyson, with the Canyon County ATV Club, was selected for Membership Manager. Kim Chournos, with the Kuna Trail Riders, was selected as Public Lands Director.
